MacEwan Digital Exhibits is an online platform using Omeka S software for hosting curated collections from MacEwan University's Archives and Library. This platform may also be used to host digital exhibits curated by faculty and students, including:
- oral history projects
- mapping projects
- exhibits of user-generated content
- exhibits of primary sources around a common theme

Terms of Use
Creating & Managing Digital Exhibits
MacEwan University Library reserves the right to determine the suitability of projects included on this platform.
Project leads must be a MacEwan University faculty or staff member. Student projects should be done under their supervision.
Library staff can provide an orientation to using this platform, basic technical assistance and customizations to design elements that adhere to the theme in place on this platform, and guidance on assessing and securing copyright permissions, when required
The leads on individual projects are responsible for building their own exhibits, which includes any digitization, file formatting, metadata entry requirements, migrating content to other platforms, and ensuring that content adheres to accessibility standards that make the content available to all people regardless of sensory ability or disability affecting vision and/or hearing.
Ownership & Reuse of Content
Content on this site may be used for educational and research purposes.
Copyright resides with the creators of the exhibit.
Exhibit creators are expected to provide attributions for items that are made publicly available on this platform, while ensuring use of third party content is within fair dealing provisions of the Copyright Act or for which permission was obtained, does not contain libelous or unlawful matter, or invade the privacy or personal rights of any individual.
Withdrawal of Items
Although the removal of items is discouraged, items may be removed at the request of the author/creator/copyright holder.
Items will be withdrawn in the case of copyright or privacy violation, plagiarism, or other legal requirements and proven violations.
Decommissioning User Accounts
Faculty and staff accounts will be removed from this platform when they are no longer affiliated with MacEwan University. Student accounts will be removed from this platform at the completion of a student project. Any completed projects by these users will remain available on this platform for the life of this service.
MacEwan University Library reserves the right to remove any user accounts and delete any incomplete projects associated with these accounts after a period of one year following the project’s anticipated completion date.
Termination of Service
In the event of a decision to discontinue hosting a digital exhibit project by either the project lead or MacEwan University Library, written notice must be provided to the other party at least three months prior.
Upon termination of this hosting agreement, the Library reserves the right to archive completed projects in appropriate formats to ensure long-term preservation and access.
